An antique store was always a dream of mine, but it definitely took it's time coming to life, taking more twists and turns a long the way.
After about a year in the original storefront off East Brainerd Road, we had already outgrown the space. Can you believe? We are still so lucky and fortunate for our loyal customers who were there at the BEGINNING, when we were in a tiny storefront. They believed in us!
We moved and opened on Hanover Street, and loved being in the heart of the Riverview area. With more space I was able to add a few unique pieces I had found here and there. With all our inventory though, more and more people were interested in the antiques; my counter I found, or the bookcases displaying items. It was then I quickly realized this was what I am meant to do ... antiques.
And just like that, the Lord knew I wanted to pivot. A historic building in Red Bank became available. With a new, bigger space,
I would be able to sell more antiques, and even have other vendors sell their items as well. We hit the ground running, and haven't looked back!
In an old pharmacy and soda shop, an upscale antique mall was born. The Mustard Seed Gifts became The Mustard Seed Antiques, Gifts, Home Decor and More.
And it has been SO. MUCH. MORE!
After being open in this new space a little over a year, I am truly blessed. The outpouring of support from the community is unmatched. We already have regulars and repeat customers. Even designers come in to find those one-of-a-kind pieces for their clients.
To me, the Mustard Seed is more than just a store. It has been my life's passion, a place of comfort, and the source of so much great fellowship. Hopefully, it can be that for our customers as well.
